Well, that was another good weekend for Halcyon coached riders. Jenson Young continued to carry his strong road form into the cyclo-cross season with an overall win and first Junior at the Notts and Derby Cyclo Cross League, beating Ben Swift no less. He repeated his efforts on Sunday back in Yorkshire with a 2nd place overall in the local league race and again first Junior.
Down in the south, after a very strong ride Katie Scott was 2nd overall and first Junior in the first Wessex League round at Newbury Racecourse.
Meanwhile, Gareth Davies and Alexa Hawkins topped the podiums in their respective youth A/U16 races also at the Wessex League.
There were strong rides elsewhere with some riding their last road event of the season before well earned rests. Euan Macleod narrowly missed out on a podium spot at the final round of the Youth National Circuit Series at Brands Hatch.
For most riders the road season gives way to cyclo-cross and for some the short but intense hill climb season. At some stage all will be having a rest to recharge their bodies and minds for the challenges ahead.
